Welcome to the Fetal Therapy Team of Utah

The Fetal Therapy Team as part of Maternal Fetal Services of Utah was established in 2006 by Dr. Robert Ball and Dr. Michael Belfort in order to meet the needs of patients both locally and nationally for diagnosis/management of fetal complications that require in utero surgical treatment.

Their unique vision involves working in partnership with perinatologists nationwide, in particular at sister HCA facilities and traveling when possible, to either the patient's home state or region. This will enable patients to remain close to their own homes and support systems while still making cutting edge procedures and expertise available to them.

The Fetal Therapy Team consists of Drs. Ball and Belfort, and Carrie Gonzales, our nurse coordinator, and is associated with St. Mark's Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

- Twin-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS)
- Twin Reversed Arterial Perfusion Sequence (TRAP)
- Fetal Red Cell and Platelet Isoimmunization/Anemia
- Obstructive Uropathy
- Pleural Effusion with Hydrops
